A recent study evaluating a course called Exploring What Matters has found many significant and positives effects of the course. The course is run by the charity Action for Happiness across the UK in pubs, clubs and community halls. During the course, a new skill to help promote happiness in life, as well as, the workplace is introduced each week; learners test out ideas in their lives and track their experiences using a diary method.

The study has found that taking part in the course has many positive benefits such as pro-social behaviour which resulted in increased social networks and the strengthening of bonds and relationships. People on the course also felt that their mental health had improved and these effects were still felt six months after the happiness interventions. During the course, a new skill to help promote happiness is introduced each week; learners test out ideas in their lives and track their experiences using a diary method.

Investing in happiness is essential, especially in the workplace!

Perhaps you would like to work on your happiness and job satisfaction?  Inova Consultancy, based in Sheffield, is involved in an exciting EU Project bringing Happiness@Work training and group work to small businesses with less than ten employees in South Yorkshire.

Happiness@work aims to increase satisfaction and happiness in the workplace. It has been found that happy people are more successful, develop a strong sense of purpose and form authentic, cooperative connections with others. This project incorporates Martin Seligman’s ground-breaking research into Positive Psychology and wellbeing. His “PERMA” Theory (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Achievement) will form the building blocks of all outputs.

We are interested in hearing from managers (with businesses with less than 10 employees) and employees who would be interested in taking part. If you could benefit from better work-life balance, happiness tips and increased job satisfaction, email us to register your interest at:
